Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee/North Carolina, November 9-11, 2001

Trail Map: I brought my GPS along on our hiking trip and recorded our path (Download the path data here). Later, I downloaded the USGS maps for the area. I had to splice two of them together, which took some doing. Then I manually laid the path onto the map in Photoshop and tried to get it to fit. As you can see, it didn't quite fit. I attribute this to GPS error, operator error, and some to the map, which was last updated in 1976. Some day I hope to come up with a more automated process.
